Your Rosh Hashanah flower questions, answered

What flowers are appropriate for Rosh Hashanah?

White and honey toned flowers are the traditional choice. Cream roses, golden blooms, soft hydrangea and gentle greens in a round, generous shape suit the holiday beautifully, echoing the apples and honey on the table. Every arrangement in this collection was chosen with that palette in mind, from ivory garden bouquets to warm gold roses.

When is Rosh Hashanah 2026?

Rosh Hashanah 2026 begins at sundown on Friday, September 11 and ends at nightfall on Sunday, September 13. It is the Jewish New Year and the start of the High Holidays, when tables across Toronto fill with family, honey and flowers for two nights.

When should Rosh Hashanah flowers arrive?

Aim for delivery before the holiday begins at sundown on Friday, September 11, 2026. Thursday or Friday works best, since the flowers are designed the morning they leave our shop and will still look wonderful for the second night. We deliver Monday through Saturday, and you can choose your exact date at checkout.

What do you bring to a Rosh Hashanah host?

A vase-ready arrangement is one of the most welcome gifts you can bring, because the host has nothing to trim, find a vase for or fuss over. White and gold flowers alongside a jar of honey or a good bottle of wine is a classic pairing. Add a card that simply says Shanah Tovah.

What do you say for Rosh Hashanah?

Shana Tova is the classic greeting. It means a good year, and you may also see it written Shanah Tovah. Many families say Shana Tova u'Metukah, a wish for a good and sweet year, and a warm Happy New Year is always welcome. Tell us what you would like your card to say and we will write it by hand.

What do you write in a Rosh Hashanah card?

Short and warm is right. Shana Tova, sometimes written Shanah Tovah or L'Shanah Tovah, is the greeting most families use. Shana Tova u'Metukah adds the wish for a sweet year. If you would prefer something in your own words, wishing you a sweet and healthy new year, or thinking of you and your family this Rosh Hashanah, both read beautifully. Tell us what you would like and we will write it by hand on the card.

How much do Rosh Hashanah flowers cost?

Arrangements in this collection begin at $90, and delivery is included in every price. There is no minimum order and no delivery charge anywhere in our 50 km zone, which covers Toronto, North York, Thornhill and most of the GTA.

Why honey and gold tones?

Honey is the sweetness families wish each other for the year ahead, the reason apples are dipped in it at the table. Golden roses and warm cream blooms carry that same wish into the room, which is why this collection leans to whites, ivories and gold rather than bright colour. Pomegranates and round shapes carry the same wish for a full and plentiful year, which is why so many of these arrangements are full and rounded in shape.

How long will the flowers last?

Five to seven days with a little care. Keep the vase topped with fresh water, trim the stems every couple of days and keep the arrangement out of direct sun. Because each one is made fresh the day it is delivered, it will be at its best through both days of the holiday and the week after.

Can you deliver if I cannot be there in person?

Yes. We deliver across Toronto and the GTA with a handwritten card message tucked inside. If you are sending from out of town, order online and add your message at checkout, or call the shop and we will look after the rest.
